dibs on hawthorne

hey all,

i'd like to do nathaniel hawthorne (probably concentrating on The Scarlet Letter). if anyone else was interested in hawthorne, let me know & we'll flip a coin or something, otherwise, that's my pick. i saw on some website that the canon of american romantics is hawthorne, poe, melville, thoreau & emerson....emerson is apparently the big one, so hopefully one of us ends up w/ him, but we can always be anti-canon.
